Dr.Tanushree Parsai is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Engineering division of the Civil Engineering department at IIT Madras. She did her bachelor's in Civil Engineering Discipline from Jabalpur Engineering College, Jabalpur, MP during 2010-2014. She then did her masters in Environmental Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Ngapur, Maharashtra in 2016. She has received gold medals for obtaining the highest CGPA in her Bachelors's and Masters's programs. Motivated to work in field of Enviornmental Engineering she joined Indian Institute of Technology Delhi for her PhD in the year 2016. Her doctoral research foused on stability of mixture of nanoparticles in water medium and associated health risk. During her PhD she was awarded with IUSSTF-DST funded WARI fellowship for which she did part of her research work (May'19-September'19) in the University of Nebraska Lincoln, USA. She was also the recipient of the DST AWSAR award for writing a science story based on her research work in the year 2018. She was awarded best Thesis Dissertation award in the year 2022 for her research work in IIT Delhi. Prior to joining IIT Madras, she was working as an Assistant Professor in Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. She is working in different aspects of interaction of emerging contaminants in water medium, treatment of microplastics through natural systems. Dr. Parsai area of interest includes the fate of emerging contaminants, their treatment techniques in the environmental systems and human health risk assessment.
