Building Materials, Textile And Fibers Reinforced Concrete
Alva Peled is an Honorary Visiting Faculty at the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and a full professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Ben Gurion University of The Negev, Israel. Her academic background is in Textile Engineering; Chemistry of Polymers and Textile; Civil Engineering and a Post-Doc. at Northwestern University, the Centre for Advanced Cement Based Materials. She was a Visiting Faculty at the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Arizona State University US (2008) and the Civil Engineering Department, Purdue University, US (2009-2010). Her main research areas are on advanced building materials including high-performance cement and concrete composite materials, and particularly textile reinforced concrete (TRC), all from sustainability aspects. Alternative sustainable building materials including geopolymer and hempcrete are also important part in her research interest and activities.
